Daedalus development is led by Se7en Labs, the team that built and scaled DripDropz, one of the most widely used token distribution platforms on Cardano. They bring years of direct work on the chain, close ties across the developer and staking community, and a clear mandate to take Daedalus to its next stage. IO continues to contribute at the protocol level and supports the work as it ships. For you, the wallet stays the same. Your addresses, staking, and transaction history carry over untouched.

What Daedalus Is

Daedalus is a non-custodial, open-source, full-node desktop wallet. Available on macOS, Windows, and Linux. Unlike light wallets that trust a remote server’s view of the chain, Daedalus runs its own node and validates every transaction independently. Hierarchical deterministic key management, encrypted local storage, hardware wallet bridges for Ledger and Trezor, and a single dashboard for funds, staking, governance, and voting.

Why It Matters

Running a full node means your own computer holds a complete copy of the chain and checks every transaction against it. You confirm your balance and history directly, in full, from data you hold yourself. That independence is the whole point: local proof of what you own and what the network has done. For stake pool operators, DReps, institutions, and anyone who wants verifiable local state, Daedalus is the strongest form of security and self-custody Cardano offers.
